My interest in the world of birth and babies began with the birth of my first child, my daughter Kayla.

I was so lucky to have a friend who guided me through my pregnancy, helped me to have such a positive experience. She was there for us in the early years, we had so much fun and I just loved being a new mum. Sadly my California dream fell apart and Kayla and I had to move back to the UK. But a seed had been planted and as I listened to other women’s experiences I realised so much change was needed.

Slowly I started this new journey inspired by my experience and explored the world of yoga specialising in pregnancy and birth. When I was pregnant with my son someone said, “You must find Francoise Freedman”. They were so passionate that I did seek her out and joined her yoga class. I found a depth of knowledge, a sense of fun and a sprinkling of magic. I have never looked back and Birthlight has been a wonderful force for change around the world. The combination of positions, breath and movement joined with creativity of thought in a supportive community has been transformational to so many women and babies and their families too.

I have moved into all the birthlight areas of teacher training and love both land and water practices. My four children and my Birthlight adventures have taught me so much. I feel particularly excited about our motherhood yoga training as it combines pregnancy, birth and babies too. It is so moving to see parents bonding with their babies with these shared baby yoga practices. The benefits are far reaching and it’s been such a privilege to be part of this wonderful organisation. Please do join us for our lovely retreat on the beautiful Island of Majorca.
