Your retreat begins on Sunday afternoon with a welcome ceremony as our teachers introduce you to the retreat program. A gentle evening yoga session will help you to recover from a day of traveling before you join the other retreat participants for your welcome dinner.

Saragossa Game Reserve is a haven of tranquillity in the heart of the African bush, located on the banks of the Elands River in the scenic Elands Valley, approximately 20 km east of the old railway village Waterval Boven (Emgwenya). This exclusive nature and wildlife retreat covers a variety of ecosystems, from river-filled forest to savannah to bushveld. With an aura of calmness and beautiful nature, it’s the ideal place to start or end your journey in South Africa.

Giraffe, hippo, zebra, blue wildebeest and eland are just a few of the indigenous species that roam freely throughout the 1400-hectare reserve that we host our retreat at. You can discover caracal, hyena, porcupines and many more. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of modern life and share our passion for this magical place.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS


ELNURA ASHIMOVA

ELNURA ASHIMOVA

Elnura is a Hot Yoga Teacher since 2014 and will guide you through a series of hot yoga flows.

She discovered yoga when she was working in corporate environment in Germany which led to explore wisdom behind yoga in her Teacher Training in LA. Elnura spent several years in Bali and Sydney teaching & practicing yoga and discovered the healing powers of hot yoga for herself and her students. She believes that yoga leads to growth and opens many doors to feeling more fulfilled in life. If you work in corporate setting and would like to find the balance in your life through yoga & meditation, Elnura is the right person to turn to. Combining yoga and business & being an advocate for a healthy lifestyle, she loves to share her experience, passion & practice with her students.

PILAR DE MIGUEL

PILAR DE MIGUEL

Pilar has been practicing different styles of yoga for years, but when she discovered Ashtanga Yoga in 2014 it turned her life upside down. She instantly fell in love with the practice, as she deeply connected with the profound and transformative experience of combining breath and meditation with movement.

She quit her job in the international media field and started traveling to Mysore, India, to practice with her teacher and Guru, Sharath Jois. That´s where following her heart decided to create “Balearic Retreats” and bring some of the Mysore Magic to her home island, Mallorca, Spain.

She has experience organizing retreats for very well known yoga teachers such as Laruga Glaser, Dany Sa, Ty Landrum, Philippa Asher and Harmony Slater.

Pilar is based now in Mallorca during the Retreats season, however she keeps traveling to Mysore yearly to deepen her studies and teaches both national and internationally.

SARAH HIGHFIELD

SARAH HIGHFIELD

Sarah teaches an Ashtanga-based yoga class with a strong focus on extended stretches and correct alignment. Sarah’s classes are about energising the body, opening up and ultimately relaxing the mind and body. They are for people who want to retreat from the stresses of everyday life and take a moment for themselves, where they can switch off from the world, turn off their phone and relax.

Students will practice mind-body-breath synchronisation and her classes are perfect for those looking to increase flexibility and strength. Each class is fun and challenging, delivered in a mix of English and Sanskrit, with easy to understand demonstrations and optional hands on adjustments. You will leave feeling refreshed and renewed.

Sarah believes there is a style of yoga for everyone and encourages students to discover what works for them.

ALESSANDRO SIGISMONDI

ALESSANDRO SIGISMONDI

I started collaborating with some of the most renowned yoga teachers such as Kino MacGregor, Meghan Currie, Simon Borg Olivier, Laruga Glaser and so on, with many yoga studios, fitness clubs and yoga retreats center (Pure Yoga, Pure Fitness, Yogayama, Kaliyoga, YIS Yoga in Salento and manyothers) and with several brands, among them Dharma Bums, Be Pure Apparel, OHMME, Blusima… and travelled the world shooting, from Europe to USA to Asia.
In 3 years I produced, filmed and edited almost 300 videos and shot thousands of pictures that have been featured in anything from advertising posters to Instagram posts, websites and magazines, international exhibitions or just personal portolios.
I love to shoot yoga, fitness, fashion, portraits, dance, lifestyle, but I am open to any possibility.
I don’t like labels.
Yoga Photographer? Fitness Photographer? Filmaker? DOP? Director? Artist? Social Media influencer? Visual Storyteller?
I just have my eyes, my cameras, and many stories to tell.

PASCAL DE LACAZE

PASCAL DE LACAZE

Pascal de Lacaze-Duthiers loves rhythm, dance and movement. For six years the DJ, percussionist and yoga teacher in Berlin has been organizing „Ecstatic Dance“.

Since 2010 Pascal is resident DJ, percussionist, space holder and head organizer of Ecstatic Dance Berlin. He invites international DJs, musicians and teachers who enjoy a growing tribe of ecstatic dancers. Pascal facilitates Ecstatic Dance experiences on festivals around the world.

Pascal plays percussion with bands and artists since 25 years. With cajon, bongos, djembé, Wave Drum, small percussion and beat boxing he adds spice and groove to the music. On stage, in the club or in the recording studio.
